Description:

In this online class, we will focus on learning how to organize pitches and rhythms to make dynamic and interesting melodies and harmonies. No experience with music theory, playing an instrument, or reading music is necessary. We will be focusing on how to use your DAW as your instrument to understand and work with music theory.

After completing this program, you’ll be able to:

Stop Fishing for Chords

Learn what goes into chords, how they work, and what makes the sound you are looking for. Approach the MIDI grid like an old friend – not a stubborn enemy.

Scales, Chords, and Keys

Slam Academy is a community. While in this class, you will meet your next great collaborative partner, someone to share the stage with, or even your new best friend.

Create Emotion and Color in Your Tracks

Use timeless chord progressions to create the exact emotion you are looking for, without needing to be able to read notes or traditional music notation.

Produce, Mix, and Master

Use Ableton Live to mix and master your own songs so they sound as loud and clear as your favorite tracks.

Live sessions happen two times per week and are optional. You do not need to join in, but once you do we think you will be hooked. In them, you can ask questions, get feedback on your track, or you can just sit quietly and listen.
