Accreditation
IAOMEI is dedicated to supporting courses that strictly follow our standards. In order for a course to receive our accreditation, it must pledge to support the 4 principels of IAOMEI:
- Effective Pedagogy: The teacher organizes the material effectively, the curriculum is structured and methodical, and motivated students are likely to be successful in this class.
- Intuitive Delivery: The materials are easy to navigate, student learning will not be slowed or stopped because of the interface or layout of the class.
- Rich Media: The teacher incorporates media (audio, video, and other tools), the video elements are of a sufficient resolution and the audio quality is clear. There are no unresolved or unclear copyright issues associated with the media or any part of the class.
- Encouraged Participation: Students are invited to engage with the class through assignments, projects, or worksheets. There is a student community opportunity (using the tools in the class or external tools like Facebook groups).
There are three ways that instructors can get involved in IAOMEI:
- Become a Member
- Become an Institutional Member
- Submit a Course for Review
Becoming a Member
Membership is primarily designed for individual course creators. Benefits of being a member include the ability to submit a course for accreditation, listing in our member database, access to our member portal, and the use of the IAOMEI Member logo on your courses and biography.
Becoming an Institutional Member
Institutional Membership is designed for schools, academies, or private companies specializing in online music educational content. Benefits of being a member include the ability to submit a course for accreditation, listing in our member database, access to our member portal, and the use of the IAOMEI Member logo on your courses and biography.
